I have joined the fairly new social media platform Alignable.com. It is a B2B site strictly for local business owners to connect and network. A member had a question: How Do We Remake Or Re-brand Ourselves? Here are the tips I shared:
Re-branding yourself is a bit of a process, but well worth it. - Define your goals ( I would like $$ sales by this date, increase website visits by 18%, collect a total of __ email addresses by this date). - Research... how does your competitor brand themselves? Are they successful? What makes you different from your competitor? - Research... Have you tested your product on others? what are they saying? What do they like about it? Can you incorporate those feelings as you promote your brand? - Define Your Niche Market. Not that you have to list it in your profile, but have you determined male / female, age, income, where are they online (fb, twitter..), what are their pain points, how can your product help them? - Besides social media, how do you convey yourself? How does your site look? Is your information up to date with consistent brand colours and brand voice? Are you managing your brand throughout all your platforms (online and off) consistently? "The process includes defining your brand and brand attributes, positioning your brand in a different way than your competitors and then managing all aspects of your personal brand." forbes.com

Writing a blog is a great way to share your thoughts and expertise on topics that appeal to your target audience. At the end of the day though, your content needs to be seen. Today I write out the steps I take to share my blog posts. Here goes:
• one with just the graphic (has text overlay blog post title) 5. Schedule post on the following social media platforms at a time when my audience is most active *use highly targeted hashtags • Facebook Page • five Facebook Groups (shared from my Facebook Page with an invite to like my page) • Pinterest (on two of my business boards) • Google Plus • boost blog post by reposting it on Twitter 4x throughout the day • email posts via newsletter 6. monitor my posts by conducting a weekly check of referring sites to my blog using Google Analytics or website referring tool 7. View top pages on site and the number of views to each post The majority of the time it is my goal to bring those who view my posts back to my website or blog. This allows me the opportunity to: • build my email list • increase traffic to my site • have my visitors go through various pages on my site therefore learning more of what I do • acquire more leads How do you share your content? Many entrepreneurs find marketing their products and services to be daunting. I have heard my clients mention the following:
- It will look like I am bragging about myself - I am too new promote myself positively - I'm just not comfortable I am not one to tell my clients that they need to get over these feelings. I honestly feel that if you are not comfortable than don't do it. Kind of. Sort of. Actually, my philosophy is ... focus on your Superpower. Here are some examples: 1. Are about numbers and analytics? Talk about your ability to analyze, understand and share what is working or not working and how you are able to pivot in order to reach client goals. This is your time to share your expertise with various types of data software. 2. Are you outgoing? Sweet! You would want to market your superpower of being engaging. Use this power for good by embracing online platforms like Facebook Live or Periscope to network with large audiences. Seek opportunities present via speaking events. 3. Do you feel a huge connection to your clients understanding the obstacles they are experiencing? Then your superpower is empathy. Highlight your ability of being helpful and the insight you can provide potential customers to help them work through hurdles Always remember to focus on the working relationship that you will build with perspective clients instead of the sale. Your stories help you to develop connections with individuals. You can still balance your stories with stats and information about your company as this may be what helps potential clients with any type of decision making. So... What is your marketing superpower? Feel free to comment how you think you will use it. |
