I’m a big believer in the power of advertising on social media.
Yes, we take the time to create content that will represent our brand and engage our followers, but creating Ads in your Facebook / Meta Ads Manager creates visibility for your business that can go a long way.
Here are just a few reasons and benefits of running ads on Facebook / Instagram.
✔️ It will expand your reach in over 20 different types of placements. (Stories Facebook & Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, Video Feed & Affiliates)
✔️ Your FB ad can get you out in front of potential clients who wouldn’t have found you solely through your social media posts. Think of it as casting a wider net.
✔️ You can target a specific audience (Insert voices of Angels singing for this one). Facebook ads are highly customizable and help you zero in on your dream clients by targeting age, location, interests, lifestyle etc.
✔️ You can customize calls to action. You’ve got their attention, now what? You have to give them something to do. Customize your ad with a CTA that will encourage your audience to make a move. A few examples include:
There’s a reason why advertising has been around for as long as it has, it works!
Moreover, unlike you, your ads can work 24/7. (This is a hallelujah right here for me)
If you’re looking for an ad strategy that will get you in front of your dream clients, we can make that happen!

You’re just about to post content on Instagram or Facebook and then you see it… The Boost Post option.
It’s tempting but is it really worth doing?
Here are 3️ reasons to think twice before boosting:
1. The options for audience targeting is limited. Boosting casts a very wide and broad net, whereas your goal is to always reach your target market. Audience targeting the most important part of your Facebook ad campaigns. Sure you can have the best copywriting and graphic design, however, if you show your ad to the wrong people, you’re missing an opportunity to deliver your ad to a very targeted audience who are most likely to convert into paying customers.
When you boost posts, Facebook limits your audience targeting options. You can only choose from 3:
These choices offers a fraction of the demographic targeting available in the Facebook Ads Manager.
2. There's no real way to gauge what type of ads will connect with your audience. When it comes to marketing Facebook and Instagram Ads, split testing is key! Boosting can be like trying to find a target in the dark because you don’t know what type of advertising your audience will be drawn to. If you run only one ad (as what happens when you boost a post), you have no way to discover which parts of the ad resonates with your audience — and which parts don’t. This removes your ability to improve your campaign over time because you’ll have no data to learn from. You’ll repeat the same mistakes over and over again and again, while not ever find out what those mistakes are.
3. Boosted posts don't meet your business goals. Boosting may get you seen and bring in a bit of engagement, but it will fall short on other goals like increasing web traffic, increasing followers, and generating sales. Facebook ads that are successful have well-thought-out objectives.

Facebook Likes help you to build great campaigns that help you to connect with an engaged audience. As you grow the number of Facebook likes it will also increase the amount of trust in your brand.
Here is a screenshot of a Facebook Ad for a client that at $7.14 per day has earned 74 likes. Bonus... This Ad is targeted to her EXACT target audience!
Have you ever used your time as a business ownwe to participate in Facebook Group ladders?
This is when you share your Facebook page in a group, and HOPE that others will like your page. Then, you go ahead and like their Page. You HOPE to circle back (because you do have a business to run). When you return, you discover that you have over 200 pages to like. You also discover that not everyone reciprocated. Does this sound familiar?
While you may add Likes to your business page, many the Likes may not be from those who could be a strong lead. There are many other ways that involve your precious time. This is where I urge you to Calculate your hourly rate as a business owner.
In our example of client work, we created a Facebook Ad to show up in front of her target audience. So far it has a reach of over 2600. (The number of the right eyes who saw the Ad).
Achieved 74 Likes. Each like costing 0.46¢!
I share the numbers because often we are stuck on saving money. But when you do the math, using your time to play games to get the wrong eyes on your brand is ACTUALLY way more expensive.
I love online ads that are used strategically. I also love explaining to business owners, how to honour and value their time. I Hope this explains the power of an ad for your business.
