Is your business in the starting phase? Like many start-ups the cash flow may be a little tight. You are aware though that one of the most important steps for an entrepreneur is defining your brand through colours, fonts and photography. Do not fear. With a bit of research there is plenty of information to find about diy brand photo shoots.

From Lisawork: How To Take Your Own Branding Photos
I really enjoyed and found the blog post How To Take Your Own Branding Photos by Lisa at LisaWork insightful and helpful. She shares some great tips on taking your own branding photos for your business:
  • Styling - choose clothing and accessories that you will be comfortable in, make you feel good and reflect who you are
  • Tools to help - a tripod, self-timer, your smart phone
  • change up your poses - be natural and have fun, change positions, look around, do not always look directly into the camera
  • Have patience - a professional photoshoot can take 90 minutes so don't rush through the process and give yourself some time

From Chic-Steals: How To Take Headshot Portrait Photos That Reflect Your Blog's Brand
I also came across a blog post be Carly from Chic Steals How To Take Headshot Portrait Photos That Reflect Your Blog's Brand.  She shows some great examples of headshot portraits. Some of her tips include:
  • using props, especially if they convey your brand image
  • look at your blog first and think about colours or themes you may want to show in your images
  • location - where will you be taking the photos, do you have to style the area?
Do you have any tips for diy branding photos? I would love to hear it!
