If you’re an entrepreneur looking to grow your professional network, LinkedIn is the platform for you!
Growing your professional network can create opportunities:
Here are 3 tips to help you create connections on LinkedIn. 1. Target This is not a numbers game so don’t just introduce yourself to random individuals hoping some connections will stick. You want to foster meaningful and productive connections that are mutually beneficial. Examples include former co-workers, people you met at networking events, high profile people/thought leaders/influencers 2. Find Commonalities It’s easy to connect with people who have shared ideas, interests, experiences, etc. Did you attend the same university? Do you have shared LinkedIn connections? You get the idea. Highlighting things you have in common is a great ice breaker to start building a professional relationship. 3. Stay in Touch Foster that new relationship by commenting on posts and or articles they may have written and shared. Conversely, you can encourage engagement on your posts by asking questions of your audience. Lastly, take advantage of the LinkedIn prompts like wishing them a happy birthday or congratulating them on a new job or job anniversary. Gestures like these show you’re engaged and go a long way to keep you on their radar. What methods do you use to build connections on LinkedIn?
