One of the most common questions we are asked by business owners is: “Should I be on LinkedIn?
Because it's considered to be a professional platform many people feel afraid or overwhelmed with just thinking about it.
Here are 5 legitimate fears.
1. You're Connecting With Everyone
Have you thought about why you’re reaching out to someone? If this is the case you are probably experiencing a cluttered feed with no results.
Not all connections lead to partnerships.
Before connecting, think about your company goals.
2. You think that LinkedIn is like Facebook, where it’s about quantity over quality.
They end feeling disappointed as they receive endless spammy DM's. Don't use the default Connection Request. Use LinkedIn to build valuable professional relationships to leverage into business opportunities. The right move is to do a little research on the person you wish to connect with and tailor your connection request.
3. You're Not Being Found
This happens because you're not incorporating keywords relevant to your industry. Your dream clients are looking for you and scan for keywords that indicate your skills and level of expertise. One way to identify these keywords is to read descriptions within your industry and take note of specific qualifications.
4. No One Is Clear As To What You Do
Don't use buzz phrases and cliches. What is a team player or a Ninja anyway?
Take it one step further by referencing what those terms really mean to you.
5. You're not using it to Network, Network, Network!
Again… This platform is not about the number of followers. Even if you are an introvert and hate networking events, you can still foster meaningful connections. Through LinkedIn, you can build a relationship with mutual connections, folks in your field, and even your greatest role models.
LinkedIn is more fun than you think!
LinkedIn may have been for employers "judging" job applicants years ago, but if you haven’t been on LinkedIn lately, you’re missing out.
LinkedIn is for B2B, B2C, and all in between!
