NICOLE WALKER EMPOWERS WOMEN TO CELEBRATE THEMSELVES THROUGH CUSTOM BRANDING PHOTO SESSIONS2/11/2018 As a portrait photographer, Nicole Walker makes it her business to help her clients project their best, most polished, professional selves into the world through images. She provides a luxury portrait experience for those who step in front of her lens. What is the name of your business and what inspired you? My business is Nicole Walker Images. I was inspired by my love of photography and wanting to help people put their best face forward in their business and life. I started providing business, beauty and family portrait sessions, my focus now is business and boudoir sessions with beauty being an underlying facet of all my sessions. Tell us about your business I am a portrait and boudoir photographer. In my boudoir work I provide sessions for women that are empowering and confidence building. My brand is a beauty brand so in everything I do I work to make sure the person in front of my camera looks great and feels beautiful. Women need to celebrate themselves more and understand how amazing and valuable they are. Self acceptance is also a big part of the whole experience with me, my studio is a body positive place. When it comes to business portraits, I work with small business professionals and creative entrepreneurs. I create custom designed Personal Branding Sessions for them. It’s more than a headshot session, it’s a chance to show more of your personality and say something with your images. Where is your business located? My studio is located in Pickering Ontario, in the Nautical Village. Who is your target audience? Why would they benefit from your service? My target audience is anyone but especially women that want portraits and want to look freaking amazing in them. There are demographics that go with that but ultimately what it boils down to is wanting to love your images and leaving your session confident in who you are. We strive to provide an experience and images that do that for you. How do you effectively raise awareness of your business and getting new clients? I go out and introduce myself to other business owners in my community, through networking events, and community events. I find ways that I can be helpful to them. How do you stand out from your competitors? I honestly believe in community over competition. There are thousands of people in my community, city, region and I can’t possibly serve them all on my own. I am happy there are other photographers in the area to help fill the needs of the community. Standing out from others in the industry comes from the custom, personalized, quality experience I provide to my clients. I don’t create cookie cutter style images, each session is different from the next. It’s important to me that my clients have images they LOVE and so I shoot for them in a way that they request with my own flair. Do you have certifications, awards and accomplishments that have been attained for your business? No. What are the two toughest challenges that you face as a business owner and how have you over come them? Be willing to be uncomfortable. In order to grow in your business you may have to take risks and take yourself out of your comfort zone. Growth takes time and effort so if it doesn’t all happen at the speed you want, hang in there. Success can be defined in more ways than one and it can be different for everyone. What special offers do you have coming up that you would like to share?
Currently I have a Headshot Marathon happening in February and I also have a facebook group for women only who are interested in boudoir photography.
